    This is the band's second CD, and includes a wide variety of world music influences that are mixed with jazz and funk. Three of the pieces are Indojazz, including the title cut, "Ganesh." Two are based on ragas. The project also includes styles from Indonesia, Ireland, Romania, the Middle East and, of course, American jazz. There are also several solo piano pieces scatted throughout the quintet recordings.

This is a setting of a Hindu story that is actually quite detailed and complex. Basically it tells of Shiva coming out of meditation to see his wife, Parvati, who is bathing. He is stopped by a boy Parvati had just created to guard her. Shiva chops off his head in battle. After Parvati threatens to destroy all creation because if this, it is decided the boy will be brought back to life, this time with a powerful elephant head and he will become one of the gods. The story I told in music basically ends with the head being chopped off and Shiva going back to meditation. The raga I used is one that is connected with Shiva.
